I recently received a coupon card from Babies R Us. The front of the card advertises "Our BIGGEST Car Seat Sale of the Season!" Graco has a new car seat called "The Larkin" for $299.99!!! Oh! But it is on sale for $239.99. How can we actually believe new parents can afford this car seat or any other car seat?
Evenflo, Graco, and any of the other manufacturers of baby equipment need to continue making safe equipment for all babies and children but at the same time make them affordable to their parents.
$300.00 for a car seat is way too expensive an item that only costs a lot less to manufacture. More expensive doesn't mean more safe. I believe parents could use part of that $300 to use on other baby items or begin a savings for their baby.
